Fatigue, lethargy, weakness, loss of fine motor control

Hot and cold flashes, but also depressed for no reason...
It IS the sucralose making me ill...
I can relate to the symptoms I have read...
I felt so terrible I was not even able to go to work...
I'm still in awe of my experience...
I noticed incredible fatigue and sleepiness...
I didn't even realize it might be the Splenda ...
It sounded like my gall bladder...
Little did I know I was slowly poisoning my body...
I have had the most miserable time...
I can breathe again!
I am a nurse who is rarely ill...
I remember wondering then if there was a connection...
I started to put it together a few days ago...
I am not myself anymore. What is wrong with me?
I had no idea I was ingesting poison...
Unbelievable how awful the experience was...
That whole Splenda experience was very unfortunate...
As of today, I'm already feeling a little better...
I feel completely misled...
I had 3 fudgsicles that contained Splenda...
I couldn't concentrate and was dizzy all the time...
I was feeling worse every day...
I got an acne-like rash on my neck and forehead...
I had acute, sharp cramps for several minutes...
I know pain and this was definitely real...
I was an emotional wreck...
I was having severe stomach problems...
I had low urine output, dry mouth, fatigue, and heart palpitations...
Too dizzy and lightheaded to drive...
I started having trouble focusing my eyes...
Splenda made me so thirsty...
I began to feel bloated, dizzy, tired, and had a headache...
Splenda made me extremely lethargic...
I also had a headache and a little lightheadedness...
I had another Splenda beverage, and my symptoms were back...
The one I use most is Diet Rite soda...
I'm about at the end of my rope...
I thought I was crazy...
I am so much more sharp in my thinking now...
Terrible pain and aching in my jaw muscles...
I began drinking energy drinks...

I'm actually very relieved to find your blog and all these articles from people who have experienced the same sypmtoms as I - now I don't feel quite so alone!

I've tried Splenda in the past, and each and every time I consume it I'm left feeling like crap afterwards. I get the shakes, I can't concentrate, my head hurts and I have an upset stomach....it makes me feel just awful. At first I thought I just had a virus of some kind, but after I did a little experimentation I came to realize that it could only be the Splenda. After reading the chemical composition of sucralose, I've come to the conclusion the refined sugar is probably better for me that Splenda!
Thank you so much for bringing these issues to light and making those of us who have reactions to Splenda feel like we're not imagining things!

After experiencing constant fatigue and sleepiness for a couple of weeks I searched the internet and found out about some people experiencing these symptoms with Splenda/sucralose. As it turns out I had recently started drinking bottled waters flavored with Splenda. Once I stopped using splenda the fatigue went away. That was about 6 months ago. I have just been diagnosed as a "pre-Diabetic" or borderline Diabetic. My blood sugar was fine over the holidays last year. Perhaps people with blood sugar problems are prone to problems with Splenda?

I've been using Splenda for months - I was drinking a two quart jar of ice tea every two days and each jar had a cup of Splenda in it.

I don't know why I didn't react right away to Splenda like so many others - but the last few weeks I had a strange weakness and a cool sensation in my legs, arms, hands. Tingling in my lips at night and a feeling of my heart stopping. Very foggy thinking and I would invert letters in my e-mails; common words I'd have trouble with. Weird hot flashes and depression as well.

I was convinced that I had MS or another unfortunate disease. I started searching the web and typed in leg weakness and came across this site. The very first letter I read from a couple (who had sent a letter to the makers of Splenda) had many of my symptoms!

I have been off Splenda for a few days now and the weakness is almost entirely gone. I'm hoping that I will continue to improve.

THANY YOU for this site! I do not have any health insurance and would have spent I'm sure thousands of dollars trying to find a cause to my problems.

I started using Splenda because of the Low Carb Diet but afterwards I continued to use it for 6 yrs now. I was diagnosised with severe arthritis in my spine and in my hands. My pain began in my hands 6 years before and then to my spine, well it got worst, where it was in all of my joints, and then my body got so stiff and I could barely move, my 12 yr old had to help me to walk. I started losing feeling in my legs and after reading this website, I woke up the next morning with feeling in my legs again. I'm still limping but its nothing like it was the day before. I thought I was nearly going to be in a wheelchair at 34 and now I am hoping that in 2 wks I can walk normally again and use my hands normally again. I hope the damage isn't too severe but anything would be an improvement. Thanks.

I have had occasional problems over the years with weakness after meals and various other symptoms.
I though it was due to the amount of sugar i ingested, so i started using sucralose.
The first few months i felt loads better with no symptoms of weakness at all, but then about a month ago i became very weak just from carrying a bag of shingle to put on my driveway.
From that moment i became so weak that i could barely walk to the bathroom and this lasted a few hours. Then each day my symptoms became worse and worse until i could no longer do anything apart from sit still and not move at all! It was horrible! Im a surfer and a mountain biker and i could do nothing at all so you can imagine my frustration.
I ended up in hospital having all sorts of tests and they thought that i might have Hypokalaemic Periodic Paralysis, although i wasn't so sure.
Anyway, i started using less splenda after a week and my symptoms became a little easier, i then cut it out 100% and used only normal sugar, and within a week i was back to my old self with just a little bit of weakness after meals, then i converted to using xylitol and i now feel almost back to normal! Maybe its the splenda, maybe its not, but one thing i know is that i wont use it again!

I am so tired of having to carefully read the ingredient list of every food that I buy so that I can avoid splenda/sucralose. It only takes a few minutes for the effects of sucralose/splenda to begin. Last time I accidentally consumed sucralose, it was in my oatmeal. I didn't realize that it was in the oatmeal, and I had already consumed half a bowl. I felt lethargic, and a disgusting taste began to fill my mouth (which brushing with toothpaste just wouldn't seem to make it go away). My head felt like it was in such a fog, and I felt like I wasn't quite "there". I looked at the ingredients, and sucralose was listed. I'm so afraid of splenda, sucralose. I even refuse cake at parties, and other items unless I know for a fact that it does not contain splenda/sucralose. Thank you so much for your good fight against the terrible and harmful splenda / sucralose. Please do everything you can to get the FDA to make warnings mandatory on all food that contains sucralose. I also encourage you to start a Youtube channel. Thank you so much! I hope you succeed, many people's lives will be made better!
