Heart palpitations, accelerated heartbeat, elevated blood pressure, atrial fibrillation

I know I feel better now, and I know how I was feeling then...
I had one encounter with the use of Splenda...
I can't believe that I have been poisoning myself ...
I also stopped losing weight after adding sucralose...
I started feeling "not myself"...
I am not happy with the results...
I didn't even realize it might be the Splenda ...
Two weeks ago, my wife decided to use Splenda ...
What a terrible mistake!...
I was rushed to the emergency room...
Little did I know I was slowly poisoning my body...
I can breathe again!
It took me three times to figure it out...
I paid the local emergency room a visit...
I only had to try Splenda once...
I've been sick for almost a year and a half...
I am outraged...
These symptoms disrupt my everyday life...
As of today, I'm already feeling a little better...
My poor husband who looked on so tragically helpless...
I went into cardiac arrythmia immediately after...
The horrific headache was back...
I have been having panic attacks...
I thought I was going to pass out the pain was so intense...
I purchased Breyer's CarbSmart mint chocolate chip ice cream...
I had low urine output, dry mouth, fatigue, and heart palpitations...
I also had a headache and a little lightheadedness...
I had another Splenda beverage, and my symptoms were back...
The one I use most is Diet Rite soda...
My first Diet 7-Up with Splenda...
Horrifying heart palpitations...

I am not sure when the sucralose product was intriduced to the market. However, I do know from my experiences with radomly ocurring arythmia over the last 15 years or so, it seems to happen a lot more often when I ingest anything using the "splenda product".

the symtoms of the "heart problems" include:
speedy irregular rate, fast-slow irregular beating, slow-stop (for 15 seconds) beating, slow-stop-fast and other patterns.

this turns out to be a fairly serious problem that can end up killing me. However, I am still not entirely sure its a single substance/cause problem.

guess time will tell.

i too wondered what the heck was causing the irregular heart beats and thought it was my lipitor meds so i stopped taking them but still had PVC's regularly and confirmed them with a 12 lead monitor (iam a medic-firefighter) and deducted that my only poison being consumed was splenda...i omited it from my diet and the PVC's stopped. but did try to see if it was the splenda i drank a 16 oz artificially sweetened mix drink containing splenda and had a bout of PVC's soon after consuming it. to bad stevia wasnt used widespread as an alternative sweetner.

thanks

I have been in the hospital twice with atrial fibrillation in the past few years. The second time they had to shock my heart 3 times to get it beating normally. A few days after I came home from the hospital, I ate some cereal with Splenda on it and went to bed. My heart was jumping around so bad I thought I was going to have to go back in the hospital again. I made it through the night, and the next morning when I was about to put Splenda in my coffee, I realized that it was the cause of my problem. It was the only thing I ate that was out of the ordinary. I threw it out, and have had no trouble with atrial fibrillation since then. I check everything I buy, because sometimes it doesn't say Splenda, but the generic name 'sucralose.'

I am a Registered Nurse, I have in 3 months had 3 bouts with Atrial Fibrillation, I couldn't figure out what was causing it, niether could my doctor. I finally put 2 and 2 together just yesterday when i drank several glasses of a popular lemonade drink made with Splenda and went into A-Fib once again. I ralized that my problems began at the same time I went on a diet replacing sugar with the sweetener. I will be discussing it with my doctor. In the meantime I will use no more of it. I am only 49, I want to be 80 someday. A-Fib is a very dangerous arrithymia and can rapidly take your life.

I just drank a 20fl oz bottle of a Splenda flavored water drink and felt a heavy beating from my heart.... man this stuff is bad for you. To my surprise a quick search on google brings up this website. Scary stuff! Someone should do more medical research.

I decided today to do a study on Splenda and heart palpitations and am amazed as to what I found. I really thought that Splenda was the safe alternative to Asparatame found in most diet soft drinks.

I have been noticing an increase lately in heart palpitations (skipping beats). I started noticing that it begins to happen after I drink a can of Diet Rite soda. I have been meaning to check it out online to see if there is a connection and only did today because once again I started experiencing palpitations after 2 cans of Diet Rite.

I am at work today and went to check on one of the employees doing a particular job. While talking to him my heart skipped beats a couple of times. I checked my pulse and noticed that it was a little fast but not too bad. I looked at myself in the mirror and noticed that my face was very red. It was then I decided to go online to check out if Splenda and heart palptitations are possibly associated. I now see that I should give up the diet pop and drink only water or juice instead. I am going to have to ride this day out as I just finished my second can of pop already but I am so done with it.

Congratulations! It could take a week or so to be free of the effects, so give it a chance. Check with your coworkers to see if any of them have any of the symptoms shown on this site. Many of them spend a lot of money and suffer a great deal before they finally figure it out. Help others to connect the dots too.

Sucralose is now in so many different products that I sometimes don't see it on the label as they mix it with fructose corn syrup. But I can always tell when I have ingested sucralose - I have heart palpitations with clockwork predictability. It just happened again with Gatorades new low cal G2 Drink. It may be low cal, but it is poison to my system. But now I am stuck with these worthless drinks I bought.

I am amazed at what I am reading!!! I too have struggles with heart palpatations...for five years. About one year ago I was hospitalized twice within one week when it was discovered that I have afib. In addition, I also struggle with "Fibromyalgia", difficulty walking, trouble with hands, shoulders etc. My sinuses are a mess. I have terrible fatigue, short term memory issues and hot flashes (but I am 50 year old woman). I found this site because I had stopped using splenda in coffee for several month (still drank diet soda though. When I recently started using it agin in my coffee I am now getting sores and burning in mouth, very dry mouth lips and tongue feels awful. I am stopping this stuff altogether to see if all my symptoms disapear. Thanks for the info.

I can't believe what I'm seeing here.

Why is "Splenda" still out there !

Someone should do something soon.

About a month or so back, I started taking splenda in my coffee thinking that its a healthy thing to do. Soon after, I started feeling a flutterring in my chest , a sudden noticable increase in heartrate and then immediate dizziness. I always used to get these episodes sometime after my breakfast (with coffee) around 11 am or so.

Today, I've been investigating hard into what may be causing this.. coz I've never had it before... now I realise what's happened !

Will these irregular heartbeat and sudden fluttering etc. go away now once i stop Splenda ?
I'm worried I might have caused permanent harm to my body

You should see relief within a few days -- certainly within two weeks. Long-term heart damage has not been reported yet. Splenda (sucralose) is now in more than 4000 products, including medications and products that contain sugar. We are even getting reports that sucralose is being added to products without noting the addition on the label, so keep that in mind if any of these common symptoms appear.

Please warn your friends, family, and coworkers about Splenda (sucralose). Who knows how many people have gone through hell trying to cope with or treat one or more of these Splenda sicknesses. I wonder how many people have lost their jobs and then lost their homes as a result of Splenda poisoning. We are under attack, folks. It's time to fight back -- furiously.

Please post a comment here with your progress in a few days.

Wow! I have been having heart flutters and was looking for a reason. I had a major event and was sent to a heart specialist. He had no explanation. Just as a thought, I googled Splenda and found this. More than I expected. I started using Splenda a year ago thinking it was more healthy. Boy was I wrong!
Thanks for all your comments...
